I think a lot of people don't like that about this series but for me? It's what I like the most.Īnyway, if you like comics and you enjoyed the Percy Jackson books pick these up. They also gave Percy the underworld pearls way to early. The Lightning Thief was fine but the art style was ugly and they got rid of Medusa. I was reading the PJO graphic novels on hoopla to see how faithful of an adaptation they were and yikes Not good. Sorry new to posting on a reddit but anyway. I know I said that in my review for the first one, but its important. The Percy Jackson graphic novels were meh. I think what I am enjoying most about the graphic novel version of this series is that they focus on the darker elements of the series. The characters are all drawn the way they are described and the monsters are all pretty damn monstrous. This one was spot on, if my memory serves me correctly. The first one left out some fairly key scenes and characters. Sea of Monsters was a more accurate representation of the second book. But it is just so damn fun I can't help but love it. It's on the young side of Young Adult, to be sure. I already love the Percy Jackson series so much.
